Successful use of the grill table is based on choosing the right charcoal or briquettes. Charcoal and briquettes differ not only in composition but also in burning behavior. When you understand their characteristics and know how to use them appropriately, you ensure consistent heat and optimal results for your food.

Choosing and Using Charcoal and Briquettes

Size of Charcoal and Briquettes
The charcoal container in the grill element is optimized for exactly one grilling session. This makes it easy to use and ensures that the heat stays consistent throughout the meal. Due to the size of the charcoal container, we recommend using small briquettes or small charcoal. Large hardwood charcoal and large briquettes are specifically designed for bigger grills and require more airflow to ignite properly. By using small charcoal or briquettes, you can light them directly in the charcoal containers.
Always fill the charcoal container completely with charcoal or briquettes. During lighting, the container can be so full that the grates rise slightly.
We recommend using briquettes, as they burn longer and hotter. With one full container, you can effectively use the grill for about 2–3 hours.
Use plenty of fire starters or starter cubes for lighting. A chimney starter is not necessary, but you can use one if you prefer.
Let the charcoal or briquettes light undisturbed for about 15–20 minutes before cooking. Initial smoking is normal and will stop before you start grilling.
If the charcoal or briquettes smoke for a long time and don’t ignite properly, they may have gotten damp. Always store charcoal in a dry indoor space.

Safe and Memorable Grilling Starts with the Right Practices
SocialBBQ Grill Tables are designed to provide a unique grilling experience that combines togetherness, safety, and practicality. By following the instructions, you ensure that your grill table functions in the best possible way and that use is safe in all environments.
Safe Construction
SocialBBQ Grill Tables are designed from the ground up to be safe and reliable. The grill table’s construction includes several carefully designed elements that ensure the table can be used with confidence in various environments—at home, at the cottage, in commercial use, and at events.
1. 60 mm Safety Distance to Wood Surface
The actual grill section is positioned 60 mm away from the wood.
This safety distance is dimensioned to prevent overheating of the wood section and ensures that the wood surface cannot ignite under any circumstances.
2. Separate Charcoal Containers Minimize Heat Transfer
The separate charcoal containers inside the grill reduce direct heat transfer to the table’s structures. Between the charcoal containers and the outer grill section is a controlled air gap that acts as a natural thermal break and distributes heat evenly.
3. Air Gap Keeps Temperature Controlled
The grill is designed so that heat always has space to rise upward, not sideways. This ensures that heat does not reach the wood surface but rises safely directly from the grill area into the air. The construction effectively prevents the table from overheating even during extended use.
4. Tested in All Operating Conditions
Thanks to its construction, the SocialBBQ Grill Table is completely safe to use:
-
during extended grilling
-
at high temperatures
-
in varying weather conditions
-
even when sitting close to the heat at the table
The grill’s safety is therefore based on a precisely dimensioned and tested construction that prevents overheating of the wood surface and guarantees safe use in all situations.
