I am change:
When you use me, you no longer want to spend time alone by the grill—you all want to spend time with me. I represent a shift in food culture. Forget Korean BBQ and focus on creating a new Finnish BBQ culture. The culture of sharing food has been present around the world for a very long time (Spanish Tapas, Greek Meze, Italian Antipasto, Korean BBQ, etc.)
With me, you can start creating this culture of sharing and doing things together in Finnish grilling as well.
I am an individual:
My family is really large and diverse. Some of us are dark, some are light. Some of us are big, some are small, and some of us are designed as custom orders for specific needs. Each of us is a unique individual, though. No two of us are alike. We are all the result of domestic craftsmanship and 100% Finnish. We’ve been marked with both the Key Flag product label and the Finnish Design designation. We are high-quality pieces. Our weight tells you that we’re not some one-summer disposable products, but investments built to last. I weigh close to 130 kg, and even my little brother weighs over 100 kg.
I am proud:
I am a proud and self-respecting individual. I am by no means the cheapest product on the market. Nor am I a mass-produced product of a disposable society. I am a product of quality domestic craftsmanship. I am designed to withstand use, wear and tear and the Finnish weather.
I am like a fine wine, only getting better with age.
I am also very proud of my versatility. Although I am a quality barbecue, I am also used a lot as a stylish patio table.
Sometimes my charcoal grill is filled with pellets and people gather around me just to warm up and enjoy themselves.
Sometimes I am used for a long time for various smoking and braising activities.
A Social BBQ product family has been created around me. These are the tools designed for me (plancha, half-parilla, spare racks, smoking cone, etc.) are the best way to showcase my versatility. The semi-parilla ensures, among other things, that small barbecue items don’t fall between the grates into my insides to mess me up. The versatile plancha makes it easy to cook smash burgers, pommes noises, meats, small finger foods, etc. with me. In addition, the plancha can be raised above my heat, acting as a hotplate where I can move the already cooked items to wait/rest.
I’m the reason why it’s always good weather for a barbecue.
I’m flexible:
From minced sausages to tenderloin, Souvlaki skewers to Wagyu meats. From burgers to duck breast. Or even just veg. Anything goes for me. Grill, fry or smoke. From direct fire to reverse searing. Just enjoy the warmth and ambiance of an open fire, or cover me with a cloth and dress me up for Sunday brunch.
I’m flexible and adaptable. Just gather around and enjoy.
I’m easy:
When I was designed, I was built with quality and usability in mind.
I was built to withstand all weathers. no need to hide or hood me. I enjoy the outdoors on the terrace in summer and winter.
After use, often all you need to do is wipe your droppings off me with a damp cloth. Of course, sometimes I need more of your attention. Especially in spring, I enjoy being stroked with sandpaper and having wood oil applied to my surface. I have minimal wood screws, which makes me as stable as a rock. Even after many years, I don’t start to sway or wobble.
I don’t like untidiness, coal/ash dust. I have charcoal containers inside which, when removed for filling or emptying, keep me tidy and happy. These containers also allow you to decide which parts of me you want to use, one or more.
With my optimized kindling and briquettes, using me is quick and easy. No need to inject any smelly lighter fluids into me. I’m done in fifteen minutes and serve 2-3h of quality grilling time at a time.
I’m so easy that with me everyone can be the top chef in their own life.
