This coming summer, the Pöytyän Urheilijat women’s Superpesis team will take its games to a whole new level in collaboration with SocialBBQ Grill Tables. The goal of developing these events is to continually offer spectators new experiences and reasons to come to the stadium and experience pesäpallo in a new way.
In Kumila, Pöytyä, at the Kyrön Sähkö Center arena, something unprecedented is taking place: a BBQ container where the excitement of the game combines with shared dining and grilling around the same table. Kyrön Sähkö Center offers a unique blend of rural scenery and the excitement of Finnish baseball, and its convenient parking arrangements, for example, earn praise from visitors year after year.
An experience never before seen in pesäpallo
Superpesis from Pöytyä and SocialBBQ Grill Tables bring a completely new kind of experience to the games in a BBQ container, where spectators aren’t just an audience but an active part of the event. You cook the food yourself on the grill together with your group, combining watching the game, socializing, and dining in a unique way.

What’s new compared to other Superpesis games?
Compared to other Superpesis games, this concept offers a completely new, interactive dining experience where you don’t just watch the game—you get to participate and experience it for yourself. Your own grill table puts dining front and center, and the social concept brings people together around a shared activity—at the same time, this marks the first time in Finland that a similar concept has been implemented in pesäpallo.
A Great Display of Skill in a Small Village
The women’s pesäpallo games of Pöytyän Urheilijat are more than just sporting events —they are a showcase of the entire community’s strength, with events organized through volunteer efforts that bring together an average of about 500 spectators per game and offer visitors a warm and authentic atmosphere. Pöytyä is also an exceptional town in this regard, as it is the only municipality in Finland where women’s Superpesis is played—the other locations in the league are cities.
The season kicks off on Mother’s Day
The first home game will be played on Mother’s Day, May 10, and interest in the new BBQ concept has been very encouraging—several tables have already been reserved for summer games. The Pöytyä Superpesis team’s goal for the upcoming season is to reach the quarterfinals in Superpesis.
