SocialBBQ – International Expansion and Gas Grill Product Development is a development project carried out by JT Embla Oy, with the goal of developing a gas-powered version of the Finnish-designedbarbecue table and to build the company’s capacity for international growth. The project will be carried out in Aura, Southwest Finland, from September 15, 2025, to September 13, 2026.
The project is developing a completely new gas-powered SocialBBQ grill table model, which is particularly suited for professional use in restaurants, hotels, and the events industry. The new product is designed to meet EU safety and certification requirements, which will enable its widespread commercialization in the European market. Product development includes technical design, prototype construction, testing, and CE certification.
In addition to product development, the project aims to build the company’s capacity for international expansion. The measures include analyzing target markets, developing distribution and revenue models, and participating in international trade shows in the industry. The project’s target markets are, in particular, Sweden, Italy, and Spain.
As a result of the project, the company now has a CE-certified, gas-powered SocialBBQ Grill Table, which has been piloted in restaurant and event settings. In addition, the company has gained the capacity to commercialize the product and begin exporting it to European markets. In the long term, the project aims to increase the company’s exports, create new jobs, and strengthen the international competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Southwest Finland.
The project also implements the principles of sustainable development. The SocialBBQ solution is based on long-lasting products and a rental model that support resource-efficient and low-carbon business practices.
